The picturesque 17th century village of Kettlewell is situated in Wharfedale, just 14 miles from Skipton, and is perfect for holiday makers of all ages. The village was also the location of the award winning film "Calendar Girls", those middle aged ladies who captured people's imagination and newspaper headlines with their bare-it-all pictorial calendar.
The village has three pubs; the King's Head, just a few hundred metres from Ghyll Cottage; the Blue Bell Inn, originally a coaching inn back in 1680, and the Racehorses Hotel, built in 1740 originally as a stable block.
Other amenities include a village store, a filling station, tea rooms, gift and outdoor shops. Outdoor activities in the area include rock climbing, hiking, cycling, caving, horse riding, fishing, sightseeing and much more.
